About the Author

Shri S.P. Tyagi (M.A. LL.B.) is an esteemed former member of the U.P. Higher Judicial Service. After serving as a judge in various districts, he retired as Additional Director (Training) at the Judicial Training Research Institute, Lucknow, in 1999, and later served as a Judge/Chairman of the Consumer Forum in Ghaziabad for five years.

He is a prolific author with thirty books to his credit, encompassing about sixty-two thousand pages written in both English and Hindi. His works, including Law of Evidence, NDPS Act, and Medical Negligence, are read with respect globally in the U.S.A., U.K., Malaysia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Singapore, and Sri Lanka. Shri Tyagi has been honored multiple times by the Government of India and the U.P. State Government for his contribution to the Criminal Law Justice Delivery System. Notably, he was presented with a Scroll of Honour by the International Council of Jurists and All India Bar Association by former President Hon’ble Smt. Pratibha Patil in 2009, and was further honored by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India in 2011.
